About brand
Kalin’s Grubs and Tackle began in the late 1970s when Al Kalin, a farmer and avid angler from Brawley, California, turned his passion for fishing into a business. After marrying Patti Faulk in 1976, the couple started crafting fishing lures in their home. Their hobby quickly expanded, leading them to move operations to a warehouse at their cattle feedlot. Al’s creation of the curly-tailed Lunker Grub significantly influenced finesse fishing techniques, especially in the Midwest and Western U.S.
In 2007, Kalin’s became part of the Acme Tackle Company, based in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Today, the brand continues to produce a variety of soft-plastic baits, including the original Lunker Grubs and newer designs like the Tickle Tail, catering to anglers targeting species such as bass, walleye, and panfish.
